  1. My grandfather Olegario Lopez Lujan ran a newspaper called “El Puerto de Corpus Christi” during the period from 1927-29. I know this because I have the articles. He was born in La Habana, Cuba in 1891. He studied medicine, but realized that what he wanted to do was be journalist. He left Cuba to pursue his dream. After the Great Stock Market Crash in 1929, he sold part of his share of the newspaper and left to San Luis Potosi, Mexico. There he died at age 42 and is buried in the Masonic Crypt in San Luis. He was a spritualist who could hypnotize people and foretell the future. He was a great man. If you have any questions, my email is mamibell@yahoo.com Cecilia ALvarez

  2. I had no idea that there were that many Spanish newspapers that far back in history. At first I thought that it made sense because all of the locations on the list were southwestern states, but I can see that there are Spanish newspapers as for into the midwest as Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Interesting…
